Loise Braganza is an interdisciplinary artist. She investigates transformational identities. Her practice is a process and becoming, that involves subtle forces of representation and going beyond visual into transpersonal, multifaceted sensorial communication channels. Costume and textiles, the cornerstone of her methodologies in materiality expanded to integrate writing, performance, photography, video, and gifs. The processual allows for materialisation to become an integrative aspect that lets artistic research direct methodology to elicit artistic production and contemplation as continuous and ongoing. The transformation of the other, the persona, unlocks a larger pool of knowledge about the transient notion of identity, exploring interpersonal relationships, the complexity of socio-economic cultural contexts, and humanistic stereotypical prejudices. A belief and her understanding of the how and why of certain events bring forth compassion, solidarity, and empathy and is vital to this process of mutual identification.
